Have you played Professor Layton yet? I haven't, but it's a busy week and I've developed irrational addictions to Culdcept on 360, Castlevania II on VC, and Phantom Hourglass on DS. If you want to, just head to the local Wal-Mart or Best Buy, as both chains have broken street date on the title that's supposed to ship today, February 10, alongside the Cobalt/Blue DS Lite. This means copies are out in the wild now, generally receiving good reviews. Sales? We don't know.
Nintendo, however, has made it clear in the manual for Professor Layton and the Curious Village that they're already committed to at least one Layton sequel.
In the Japanese version of the game, there's a secret password entry screen that can only be unlocked by playing the sequel, called Professor Layton And The Devil's Box in Japan.
That same feature is in the U.S. game, and the instruction manual specifically says that the password "will be revealed in the sequel," so take that as your official confirmation.
The second game is called Professor Layton and the Devil's Box in Japan, and is sure to get a more toned-down title when it comes out here.
