Here's another good tidbit I found while doing the rounds at the distinguished competition today, though it's apparently been all over the internet already.

A snippet of a Japanese Toys R Us flier promoting the upcoming Pokemon Platinum release - the inevitable 'chaser' to the Diamond/Pearl generation, ala Pokemon Crystal and Pokemon Yellow - has gone online. The flier depicts five unusual silhouettes that fans can't seem to identify as any of the hundreds of pre-existing Pokemon.

Could Pokemon Platinum be getting an assortment of exclusive monsters? Usually the "chaser" game does get a slightly different monster assortment than the first two, but exclusive monsters - let alone five - are fairly unusual as these releases go.

Thanks, Lynxara, I hadn't heard about this yet. That seems odd that they'd create 5 new Pokemon for a game, seeing as they've never done that before. But there's a first time for everything, I suppose. I guess I'll be getting this game too (which is a good thing, since I only have 3 DS games).

The Purple, Blue, and Red ones look like they are part of the same evolutionary line, since they all have a horn and claw-looking arms. Five New Pokemon+Two New Forms+New Features=Pretty solid new version I might consider getting

Something about them honestly looks familar. This version is actually introducing a bunch of "new forms" for certain Pokemon... I wonder if this might be related to that.

WestIsBetter

They look like new forms of Rotom, which would make a lot of sense, seeing as people were scratching their heads wondering what a single-stage Pokemon with terrible stats and a weird type combination was doing mixed in with all the legendaries on the Sinnoh Dex.

CashWheel

Yeah, these do look like Rotom forms, WestIsBetter - especially the purple one.

I think the yellow one looks to me like a rotum form, as it kinda like a lightbulb, but i was thinking about this all, and had an idea, in platinum there is a whole new 'torn world', and shaymin and giratina change forms, so possibly these five are the new pokemon forms that will be wild pokemon in the torn world, cos lets face it this torn world will play a really big part, so it would be pretty boring if they didn't put wild pokemon in the torn world.

just an idea, what do you guys think?

I wonder if Pokemon Platinum would allow them to be traded over to Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, they might be like eveolutions or something of Rotom or something like that, but hey that's just my guess
