Animal Crossing: City Folk isn't officially supposed to ship out to stores until this Sunday, November 16th, which would put it on sale in most brick-and-mortar stores for sale on the 17th or 18th (a.k.a. New Game Tuesday). If you're sick of waiting, though, you can apparently head out to your local Wal-Mart and have a very good chance of taking the game home right now. Reports of Animal Crossing: City Folk sales happening as early as November 11th have surfaced at Go Nintendo, the GameFAQs forums, and numerous Animal Crossing fan communities.

One thing to keep in mind if you want to go take advantage of Wal-Mart's inability to remember that street dates apply to them, too: it appears that Wal-Mart is not selling Animal Crossing: City Folk as part of the promised bundle with the Nintendo Wii Speak microphone. Instead Wal-Mart appears to be selling just the stand-alone game for $49.99. If you were going to do the bulk of your City Folk chatting with a USB keyboard anyway, this is no big deal, but I wouldn't be canceling an Amazon pre-order that included Wii Speak over this.

I saw quite a few places breaking street date on this honestly. Even my Local Game Store was doing it.

Lynxara

Were they breaking street date on the game by itself, or the game/Wii Speak combo?
