Not a lot of details on this announcement, but it's pretty amazing that it's happening at all. During a conference call last night, EA's John Riccitello spilled the beans on a Wii game nobody knew to be in development, a port of Dead Space. Right now we don't know anything about the game except that EA is making it right now, and the move is unquestionably part of the company's big push to make money off the Wii in 2009.
Dead Space is a 360/PS3/PC survival horror game that takes place on a space station, occasionally forcing you to cope with low gravity as part of the gameplay. While news of a game like that being ported to Wii probably raises the dread specter of Dead Rising: Chop Til You Drop, Dead Space is likely to make the transition to Wii with more of the original gameplay left intact. A Wii version won't be as pretty, but that's to be expected.
