Atari finally got around to releasing a batch of screens specific to the Wii version of the upcoming Ghostbusters title. There's one above, and if you find that tasty, the rest are behind the cut.

The Wii version of Ghostbusters has gotten some strong hype in hands-on gameplay descriptions, though early screens released back when the game was a Vivendi project didn't provide a tremendously detailed look at the cartoon-style character models. The first Atari-released round of Wii screens are much better, and I have to say the cartoon look is pleasing me. I'd like it better if Red Fly Studios had somehow licensed the designs from the original Real Ghostbusters cartoon, but I can live with these.

(Where's Winston, though? Is the long shameful history of Winston disappearing in video games going to be perpetuated on Wii?)

When I played the PC build of the Library levels -- where these screens seem to come from -- Winston was there and Peter wasn't. You picked up Peter later on in the game. Granted, in the PC build you're going after a ghost from the first movie instead of Civil War dudes, so I wonder if the Wii version changes up the levels a lot?

Well given the overall difference in tone it wouldn't be too surprising. I have to say though this looks more like a museum than the library to me. Is it possible it's two different levels that just look similar?

(Also, am I the only one who looked at that first screencap and thought "oh NO! Egon's been POISONED!"? I assume it's actually a slime effect though...)

Hmm, it is possible it's a different level. I know the Wii and other versions have different developers, despite otherwise being pushed as the same things, so I suppose we should allow for the versions to potentially be very different.
