Now this is really cool. Remember when IGN was talking about a major Wii game on the horizon that found a way to circumvent use of friend codes completely? It looks like that game is Boom Blox Bash Party (which confirmed my guess that if anybody pulled it off, it'd be EA). You'll be able to download all of its free user-generated DLC by browsing a big database of levels uploaded by users to EA servers without having to screw around with friend codes one tiny bit. Heck, you can even play levels without downloading them to your Wii!

You won't be able to use shiny System Firmware 4.0 to stream levels from your memory card due to Nintendo not letting EA know about it early enough in the development process, but you will be able to store hundreds of levels just on the Wii's 512 MB internal hard drive. You can probably store far more than you'd ever feel like playing on your 32GB SD card.
