The scan was legit, the announcement is real: Capcom has officially confirmed that Tatsunoko vs. Capcom was in fact one of the two Capcom "mystery games" set to be revealed at this year's E3. The confirmation comes both by way of Capcom's official Twitter account and the Capcom Unity blogs. The official US title of the game will be "Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All Stars."
In addition to confirming the game announcement, Capcom is also confirming that Tatsunoko vs. Capcom will be playable on the E3 show floor. Capcom is of course promising more announcements about the game as we approach E3. Apparently journalists with access to a high-res version of the leaked Nintendo Power scan saw text that mentioned online multiplayer possibly being added to the US version of the game.
If so... well, it makes me feel pretty good about my decision not to import this one. Now that good netcode for fighting games is possible, there's no real reason to ship a game in the West without one. Local-only multiplayer support like the Japanese original featured doesn't cut it over here.
